About the Presenter Brad Eckhart
Brad Eckhart | Retired Master Sergeant, Firefighter/EMT-I and
Sales Engineer | ImageTrend
Brad Eckhart is a retired Firefighter/EMT‑I with 30 years of frontline service, including 22 years with the Bowling Green Fire Department in Bowling Green, OH, where he retired in 2021. Throughout his career, he specialized in emergency medical care, incident documentation, and operational readiness—work performed under the constant, cumulative stress inherent to military deployments and public safety.
His 27-year military background, including service as an Army Combat Medic, and FMF Corpsman (Fleet Marine Force Hospital Corpsman) with the U.S. Navy, culminating in his role as a Master Sergeant and In-Flight Medical Technician Instructor in the U.S. Air Force, profoundly shaped his deep understanding of trauma’s psychological impact.
Operating in diverse, high-stakes environments, from providing ground-level combat medicine to managing aeromedical evacuations in flight gave him direct, firsthand exposure to the relentless, repeated trauma that frequently contributes to PTSD among first responders, combat veterans, and military medical personnel alike.
Since joining ImageTrend in 2021, Brad has leveraged his fire, EMS, and military experience to support agencies nationwide with data‑driven solutions that strengthen responder wellness. He is a passionate advocate for mental health in the fire and EMS community, frequently speaking on PTSD, trauma recovery, peer support, and evidence‑based programs such as Save A Warrior (SAW). Drawing from his own healing journey, Brad openly shares innovative treatment approaches.
He highlights his experience with the stellate ganglion block (SGB) and SAW, while also incorporating complementary practices including meditation, deliberate cold exposure, and sauna therapy. These methods work together to regulate the nervous system, lower stress levels, and promote long-term resilience. Through a blend of lived experience and data‑informed insight, Brad helps organizations identify burnout risks early and create environments where responders can move beyond fight or flight to moving forward.
