A Data Mart database resides in a customer’s managed environment and is refreshed continuously as new and updated records are entered in ImageTrend Elite™ or ImageTrend Patient Registry™, providing organizations the ability to use the data they capture in numerous ways.

Analyze ImageTrend Data with Third-Party Tools
Data Mart is a robust reporting solution designed for organizations that require advanced reporting and data analysis capabilities. Customers are responsible for managing and querying their SQL database. While Report Writer’s View Query feature can be used to create and run certain SQL queries, effective use of Data Mart typically requires experience with SQL database administration, querying, and data analysis.

Type A: Continuous Data Feed
Option 1: Standard Data Mart
VPN Required = Yes
Data Mart Server Requirements:
- SQL 2022+ (Standard or Enterprise)
- Windows 2022+
- SQL Authentication user with DBCreator and DB_Owner
How It Works:
- Customer builds a Windows SQL server following specs outlined in Data Mart Server Requirements Guide
- Customer and ImageTrend build a site-to-site IPSEC VPN tunnel following specs outlined in Data Mart VPN Worksheet
- ImageTrend sends customer a backup of the reporting database to seed the Data Mart via SFTP
- Customer restores the database backup
- ImageTrend sets up continuous Data Mart C# jobs
Option 2: Cloud-based Data Mart
VPN Required = No
Data Mart Server Requirements:
- Azure
- SQL Managed Instance or Azure SQL Virtual Machine with SQL 2022 (Note: Azure SQL Database is not supported)
- Public IP Address
- SQL Authentication user with DBCreator and DB_Owner
- AWS
- RDS Instance with SQL 2022
- Public IP Address
- SQL Authentication user with DBCreator and DB_Owner
How It Works:
- Customer builds a SQL server in their Azure or AWS space
- Customer provides ImageTrend with the public IP address and a SQL authentication user with DBCreator and DB_Owner rights
- Customer restricts traffic to this server except for their network and our 15 outbound IPs
Types of Data Marts
Option 3: ImageTrend-hosted Data Mart
VPN Required = No
Data Mart Requirements:
- Customer must provide ImageTrend with an IP address or range that will be allowed to access the Data Mart
- Customer will have one account to use for accessing the Data Mart
How It Works:
- ImageTrend builds a SQL MI in our hosting environment populated from the customer’s hosted Elite reporting database
- Customer provides ImageTrend with an IP address or IP range that will be allowed to access the Data Mart. All other traffic will be restricted.
- ImageTrend provides the customer with the endpoint, username, and password to the Data Mart
Type B: Weekly Backups
Option 1: Weekly backups to ImageTrend-hosted SFTP site
VPN Required = No
Data Mart Server Requirements:
- SQL 2022+ (Standard or Enterprise)
- Windows 2022+
How It Works:
- ImageTrend will upload a full backup of the Data Mart database to an ImageTrend-hosted SFTP on a weekly basis
- Customer can choose day and time when the backups are taken
- Customer will retrieve and restore the database on their SQL server
