Webinar Description
Every patient care report has implications beyond just the event documented.
State offices, researchers, and medical directors use those reports to build the evidence behind future protocols. But documentation practices vary from clinician to clinician, agency to agency, and state to state, so that evidence may be less certain than we think.
In this webinar, ImageTrend’s research team traces how a chart becomes evidence. Two case studies show what inconsistent documentation does to research. The first shows how missing race and ethnicity data can change study findings. The second shows how charts that record airway use, but not airway success, limit what the data can tell us. Jonathan Powell and Macall Leslie Salewon will also look at the training gap identified in the PWW Documentation Survey: 37% of EMS clinicians say more documentation training is needed, compared with 85–91% of medical directors, leadership and billing staff. They’ll also show how ImageTrend’s validation rules and CQI helps agencies keep records consistent and complete.
Attendees will learn how routine documentation shapes evidence-based practice and how documentation training varies across the country. They’ll also leave with practical, bottom-up ways to build a stronger documentation culture at their own agency, starting with why every field matters.
